Services

Morning Worship

Approximately 120 adults attend our Sunday morning worship service which starts at 11.00am. In addition 40 children and young teenagers meet with us for a time of family worship before leaving for separate activities in the Hall. Very young children are cared for in a crèche.

Morning worship is led by a praise band with a mix of piano, guitars, brass and wind instruments. A multimedia projector is used to project the words of songs and to enhance sermon delivery.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served following each service in the church hall which also allows for a time of informal fellowship.

Evening Worship

As was agreed at the church meeting in June 2015, there will be a new format to the evening services from September 2015. The structure will be:

First Sunday: Communion Service in St Vincent Street.
Second Sunday: Joint Praise Service with St James’ Church of Scotland. The first service will be in St James’ church and after that we will alternate buildings.
Third Sunday: Service at Lochleven Care Home at 6.00pm.
Fourth Sunday: More informal, less traditional style service at Panmurefield Baptist Centre.

Quite a number of the residents at Lochleven suffer from dementia, and so it is important that those helping with the service are prepared for working with people with this condition.

The service structure will be reviewed in December 2015.

Communion

All Christian friends are invited to worship with us at the Lord's Table, arrangements for which are as follows:

  • First Sunday of the month - Evening Communion (6.30pm)
  • All other Sundays - during morning worship

If you wish to attend a service but do not want to take part in Communion, feel free to let the bread and wine pass you by.

Normally the speaker for that day will lead communion. The deacon on duty that day will say a prayer giving thanks for both the bread and wine before the elements are served.

The bread used at communion is gluten free.
